COUNTDOWN!

August 5, 2018

It is only two more days until MH434’s 75th birthday and lets just say that the preparations are ramping up!

This will be a very special event with catering provided by Provenance Kitchen Cambridge and will be toasted with some English fizz from Nyetimber.  We will also have a home-made cake with candles that we very much hope the Spitfire will blow out.

MH434 is very deserving of this celebration being perhaps the most famous of all Spitfires still flying today. Built at Vickers, Castle Bromwich, on August 7th 1943, MH434 was air tested by Alex Henshaw – a record breaking pilot from pre-war days and within the month was scoring with 222 Squadron.

Huge, enormous thanks to these blooming marvellous utterly wonderful brilliant British Companies that have supported this

(in no particular order – but all bloody beautifully British!):

Flypast Magazine for the recognition, and support and mags,

Tyrrells Crisps (https://www.tyrrellscrisps.co.uk)… for their Posh Pocorn and other yummy crisps,

Fortnum & Mason ( thank you Zia, Stephanie and Hannah) for the Royal Blend Tea,

Tiptree, thank you so much Liz for the Redcurrant Jelly and for your enthusiasm, you PR team are fab!

Shepherd Neame – England’s Oldest Brewer, for your Spitfire Ales.

Many more pics to come, but here are a few from today behind the scenes ….

Early morning deliveries have started!
